As my client wants his labels to look a little bit metal inspired, I found my favourite beers that different bands have made.
Behemoth from Poland have made two beers now. The main imagery is their infamous logo. The design is simple and bold, and wouldn’t be too expensive to produce.
“Our goal is to give you a rad place to hang out and drink killer beer. Founded on the Summer Solstice of 2011, our mission has always been to create beers that are beyond the pale. To us this implies new ideas, channeling Loki, and embracing chaos. It means drawing from the sounds and sights that inspire us most in life.
Our beers may or may not exactly adhere to any particular guidelines – we’re style blasphemers and category agnostics – but you can count on the fact that we’ll always brew damn good beer.
To us, TRVE represents being a part of a counter culture without immersing yourself to the point of taking it too seriously.”
Trve Brewing usually incorporate imagery onto their labels that wouldn’t go amiss on metal albums. The use of a metal inspired logo is quite unique as not many other breweries tackle this niche area of the market. The imagery is bold and eyecatching, and not too overdone. The use of foiling is really well done and makes the bottles look quite special.
“3 Floyds Brewing: From our humble beginnings in 1996—armed with only a few hundred dollars, a five-barrel Frankenstein wok-burner-fired brew kettle, repurposed open Swiss cheese fermenters (Hammond Squares) and an old Canfield’s Cola tank—”It’s Not Normal” ales and lagers were born.
There’s a great number of craft breweries worldwide and thankfully more opening almost daily. Even while utilizing only the four main ingredients, these breweries make an astonishingly wide variety of ales and lagers, all with a unique house flavor.
Three Floyds is no different. Even with the wide variety of styles we brew, our ales and lagers will always taste like Three Floyds. Using sound techniques, the finest ingredients and innovation, we strive to make the best and most memorable beers—always setting themselves apart.”
3 Floyds Brewing usually use labels that are quite metal looking as well. The have done a few collaborations with metal bands such as Amon Amarth and At The Gates. Some of the labels look really great, whereas others have kind of an old school design which is a fit old fashioned/overdone but will appeal to older fans of metal.

The client wants the beer labels to look a little bit like metal album covers, so I will have a look at a few different artists he has sent me that he likes the look of as well.
